Sure, Kyung Wha-Chung is marvelous, in that early recording with Kondrashin and in a later one recorded live with the Concertgebouw and Tennstedt conducting. Her playing has a very feminine vulnerability that is very touching.

Which is the "better" performance Pepe, the Kondrashin or the Tennstedt? My natural inclination would be to go for the Kondrashin.

This time it would be difficult to choose one dear Fergus, because Chung was much younger in the DECCA, and so it´s kind of unfair to compare her with her more mature and experienced self. Still, I don´t mean that she is immature in her first recording, her playing is fabulous already, but in the second recording she finds even more things to say.
