Hi Gordon,
Maybe I could also slip in my string \\?\tusbaudio_enum#vid_20b1&pid_0002&ks#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\pcm_out_02_00
It would be great if you could produce normal version for Meitner MA-1.
The full string in regedit looks like this: (but I hope I cut off correctly where I did cut off in the version above or is the /00010001 from full string below also important ?)
\\?\tusbaudio_enum#vid_20b1&pid_0002&ks#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\pcm_out_02_00/00010001|\Device\HarddiskVolume2\musicplayer\mqncontrol.exe%b{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Thanks,

Re: MQN
think 8.97/3.84 was a bust, bass compromised. spotted what was wrong with 8.96
uploaded 8.98 avx2 dev gk, play with control 3.83
uploaded aa and aleg versions, this has got to be close to the end
3.85/8.99 is a bit sweeter, think that'll be it if people agree

Thank you very much Gordon. Played with it for a good while but could not make it to work yesterday :(sbgk wrote:there you gosebna wrote:Hi Gordon,

Will try to reinstall the system today for fresh 2012 without any optimization.
Thanks,

Tonight I will try to make Mqndevinfo.exe work and to give an output to confirm that I gave you the right string in the first place. What happens on my PC is that the Mqndevinfo starts without an error but returns no string, neither on screen or to file with mqndevsetting >> sample.txt execution. The file is blank as is the screen, app just shutdowns in the blink of an eye. Had anybody problems like this (the DAC is on and connected ;))?
Will try to reinstall my 2012 R2 for a fresh installation without any optimization to see if it makes any difference.
Cheers,
seb

Prefer play 8.99 to 8.97
Have a very strong preference of control 3.83 over 3.85.
Control 3.85 is a soft focus version while control 3.83 has clarity and authority of sound.
Control 3.83 gives experience of a true instrument in the room.
Control 3.85 is a soft focus sweetened recording and imho does not come close to a true live instrument experience.
So my current combi is control 3.83 / play 8.99
----------
Back to the combi control 3.83 / play 8.97
3.83/3.99 is not good in the very high notes , a lot of brushing on cymbals becomes a sharpish and mingled sound.

Yes please, for us on the back rows too busy with other things to catch up with the action ....
Stuck with 8.92 I have effectively been listening to different mqncontrols last week, from 3.72 and 3.78 to 3.83 and the improvements in tone density and timbre have been astonishing!
3.83 wins here too.
Question:Is mqncontrol still tied to multimedia/mmcss or can we now move MQn to WS Core?
Cheers

Re: MQN
With the latest version I can report so far, there is a very silent background...
and foreground. LOL :)
Some kind person please tell me what I've done wrong, because I get no sound.
I have:
Used my existing working musicplayer folder and simply replaced mqncontrol.exe with mqncontrol.exe 3.84 normal (and deleted the text "3.84 normal") and replaced mqnplay with mqnplay1644.exe 24 bit 8.97 normal seb (and deleted the text "24 bit 8.97 normal seb")
when I run mqn.bat it opens the dos box, shows the song I copied, but then the dos box closes.
Thank you
