Gordon - is there any manual way that we three who cannot get mqndevinfo.exe to run, can extract the ID for you? Is it in the Registry for instance?

Thanks
Jonathan

I seriously doubt the quality of the Windows installation if it cannot run these simple programs.
Are you confident your windows installation is OK?

Cheers

No!! I have modified it using the CAD Optimisation scripts and a few other tweaks, but never had a problem running MQn (normal) which we now know is the basis for the exe.
Gordon has now discovered it doesn't run with his i3.

sbgk, are you sure it was a wrong setting or just an option?
I prefer aa v15 over aa 3. The sound stage is bigger and the presentation is more forward, more alive. In comparison, aa 3 seems too "well behaved", less exciting.

Hi Gordon,
very interested to compare the difference between hard coded and ..
the mqndevinfo output on the LKS dac :

\\?\usb#vid_16d0&pid_071a#413-001#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\wave

Could the Single Device be set as start parameter so for example by executing mqn \\?\usb#vid_16d0&pid_071a#413-001#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\wave
0

it would play device typed in instead of going through auto and at the same any device could be used this way as single device?

Seems to me like a good approach, if possible.

you would think that would be easy, but more difficult than you realise.

Same here for me. Nothing wrong with the 2012R2 install. Gordon advises his I3 can't run it either. Mine is a haswell I3 will give it a go on the sandybridge i7.

Gordon have you done one for Ciunas owners yet? I have one but the LampizatOr is an amanero also so hopefully same device

Is it possible to hex edit the MQn.exe and insert desired device name string? It could be very useful I think.
