Yamaha & System Audio

Post by bod »

Hi folks,

Are any of ye using Yamaha & SA in a home theatre set-up? My mate is looking at a Yamaha AV amp to go with SA 1750`s. In my mind`s ear they would not be an ideal match but as I`ve been out of the loop so long I can`t possibly be sure.

Cheers,

Dave.

I have SA1750s for HiFi and SA1530s for HiFi and home cinema. I have a Denon driving the 3 B&W front and centre speakers and the two rear 1530s and it's very good indeed. I can't comment on the Yamaha though, sorry.

Thanks Seán. That`s good to know. Denon could well be an option. Yamaha make great kit but impossible to know without a dem and my mate is one of those "buy it on the net `cos it`s cheaper" merchants which is something I would never do myself for the sake of a few sheks!

I have a yamaha surround receiver driving pmc front and Center. I really like the sound! I would describe it as on the warm side but with great definition and dynamics for its size. The yamaha is only a lower range one, but does a great job, and is very easy to set up. I am actually thinking of upgrading to a larger model when/if kids need it in the future for second TV room...

Remember not to skimp on Center speaker as it is very important for dialogue...

Thanks Claus. Seems like Denon or Yamaha will be fine so as SA`s are far easier to drive than PMC`s. I just want to make sure that I can enjoy the system :-)
