Just plays fine here, as is 8.55.
Don't feel it is an upgrade to 8.51 though apart from solving the vinyl like ticks

My previous reference was 8.16 Normal. 8.54 Normal has def taken over as my new reference. Outstanding detail but warmth.
Can 16/44.1 get any better than this? Well probably, but difficult to believe.

8.57 is same code as 8.55 with optimised alignment, makes a difference.

I'm going to say that as a result of the improved alignment the timing is bang on, just sounds right.

seems alignment is more important than i'd realised, listen to 8.58.

8.59 seems optimal, like hearing a guitar in tune, it just sings.

in assembly the code before a loop is read each time it loops round, so it's not only important to have the start of the loop aligned it's also important which instruction is before the loop, would you believe. That's the only difference between 8.58 and 8.59 if you want proof (you'll have to use your ears though).

wonder if anyone would be interested in using mqn for recording music, would it have the same effect as heard in playback.
