Unless it needs lots of burn in for my amp
it will be used on my pc :(

Might pop the hood see what's in there

Thanks for posting the pictures. I was expecting the box to contain transformers. Its a pity it seems to dis-improve the sound .. I was thinking of buying one mainly just to tidy up by wiring.

Anyone know how it would work with a home cinema system rarher than a hifi ? Also, would it be ok with a hifi if it was just used for the cd-player and preamp but not the power amp ?

Tbh if your not insanely critical it's not that noticeable
But for home cinema or desktop would be perfect
As there will be bigger issues in those systems which makes this small issue insignificant

For the home theatre I will recommend this conditioner, but never for HiFi!
Maybe, Nigel to try only on PC and that is more for stoping the garbage coming from the PC into your stereo.

I compared much more expensive conditioners and they make a difference and there is also big difference between them.
Power cable on your conditioner should be your best power cable that you have.

My current conditioner can take maybe 2-3KW(or more) and my amps have 600w consumption power, but still like my amps plug only in my dedicated lines! More dynamics.

Thanks for the replies ..

I think I will order one next week if they are still available. By the way what is the total cost [including postage to Ireland ?]. Would I be better off using Parcel-Motel for the delivery ?

I haven't listened to mine yet (!) but the unit is very well built looking - and given that they are listed on the web at 299, the deal is good. There are 5 standard 3 pin plug outlets on the back, and more for ethernet and coax/satellite connections. Another nice touch is that you get a few decent looking (and properly terminated) coax and satellite cables.

Any of these can have a detrimental effect on sonics, but for TV or cinema use, or just to protect PC/monitors etc, then its great value. Silent in operation too.

No doubt
Adams likely right maybe everything except the power amp will be a good idea

Great price
I did actually buy 2 in the end

Fran I assume for a power amp we would need a fairly large ei transformer with 220 secondaries to isolate?

For isolation, yep. The poor mans way to do it is to use two site transformers wired back to back.... 220 - stepped down to 110, then back up to 220

Never actually did it though.

Well I'm insanely critical and the sound seems fine. Admittedly I'm still breaking in the Eist speakers and bass is accurate rather than deep but there's no noticeable change in sound quality.

Well if Ivor doesn't notice it
It's hardly going to be any sort of problem for most guys
