Thanks Adam but had a go and no joy and tbh not spending any significant time messing around trying to get it functioning just accepting I am stuck with avx and sse4.

The 2 J's need to kiss and make up not sure what happened there but Jesuscheung this thread has nearly 500 pages it is hard to keep abreast of
all. Wonder should the mods considering at least one but maybe 2 splits in the thread?

Not sure about JC but I'm straight, so handshake is fair enough for me ;)
It's too hot here for a long time so I'm little bit irritated. Sorry all for my words.
Peace JC.

i am always pissed off

you said i recommended xa.
i recommended xa+7. people keeps making opinions without listening. sick of it

who cares... mqn is best... no need to listen other software... go listen more jplay/jriver. and think mqn is best possible

people are so closed minded here... sick of it... they are happy to put down jplay. they are not happy to hear opinions like other software maybe better

Ok must be very very hot where you are also! I use Jplay in my other set up streaming and also use it for DSD playback.
Still think it is very good and the complete package. Heard Jriver recently with DSD sounded very good also. Some prefer MQn and being honest
it is the one I generally use but the myriad versions does tire one out and also when the latest do not cover all versions it can pxss me off
but sure feck it.

I use JRiver (JPlay too, but I don't find big difference, so JRiver is more convenient to me) for DSD music, that I'm very intrigued by, since I've got Hugo DAC. IMO, DSD is the best format, the most natural and transparent...simply presentation is right and accurate. If I'm allowed to say, the closest to the "pure analog presentation". I downloaded Love Scenes by Diana Krall yesterday, man, I just couldn't stop listening last night. Her voice, piano, the bass behind, just name it....incredible.
Nothing beats MQn for red-book stuff yet. I think we all here agree about that one, don't we.
My 2 cent's to help to establish some peace at these "wavy times" of this thread...:)

uploaded 6.03 avx2, think it's nearly there, found another optimisation.

as usual think of a better way just after posting

6.04 avx2 has very good detail.

6.05 avx2 may be the best version I've heard, layers of detail I'd not heard before etc.

6.05 all can be played by everyone, not quite as good, but interesting none the less.

6.05 sse2 may be better than the avx2

6.03, 6.04 and 6.05 avx2, they all have clipping!

Comparing 5.98 with 5.14, in the end I still prefer the 5.14. It sounds more natural to me and more relaxed. 514 it's more complete version.
I use the 512 Control (not the 361 512).
That's just my system and my deaf ears.

BTW, just got the new "hearing aid"! :))))))
