I have not heard that version Johnny. When you give it a few more spins and have any more thoughts on it perhaps you could post it to the Four Seasons Project thread that we had some time ago if you can find it. With luminaries like Manze, Ponseele and Koopman it should be credited there as well for reference.

Will do Fergus...

There's a fantastic sense of tension in the playing.... it's like they rehearsed playing it 10% faster but Koopman holds them back... Very relaxed without any sense of lethargy....
Brass Bands are all very well in their place -
outdoors and several miles away....

My goto disc for Beethoven's 5th. The highlight being that wonderful transition into the final movement and the pile driver timpani throughout the finale. More of a fireworks performance but I wouldnt have my Beethoven 5th any other way.

That´s an ancient recording Fergus. René Jacobs first came to Mexico in 1977 with Judith Nelson and a then unknown harpsichord player called William Christie. I was there!
