it can make me forget about lots of versions as its better at
cymbals,
triangle,
brushes
tambourine
whistle
clapping
lots of hard stuff

old reliable "you look good to me : oscar peterson" left me in a bit of a trance for a couple of minutes after it ended (in a good way)

probably the tightest bass to date, maybe the best at handling fast moving music
Nige when you post 4.12 are you referring to avx or sse versions?
I am guessing avx given what you are hearing...
Cheers, Pearse.
Yes the avx's with the 512 control
I haven't tried the sse4s
Avx versions always seem to be ahead so far?
Anyone else get them working yet
I'll re upload later incase I messed it up last time

Wonder if it's something to do with the handling of the files the way we copy etc

None of these new avx versions works on my system, including 4.12.
BTW, they'd better be better than 3.14...

Try to download Pearse's (Sligolad) dropbox directory a few pages back.
Running from that directory using his mqnload worked immediately in my case. Don't copy files to other directories because with me they no longer worked. But from Pearse's directory just fine, also after copying new releases.

Thanks Sligolad for your MQN folder. For the first time I can listen tot AVX versions and I like them.
One question: When I choose MQNload I get the following message:

Could not find c:\MQNLatest\Data\mqnplay.exe
The operation completed successfully
The system cannot find the file specified

After this message I hear music.
Is this normal? Or, do I make a mistake?

This is normal and can safely be ignored.
Taggart said to remove the cause once the mqnplay is final.

4.12 the bad bits

high frequency seems to be a little capped we lose some of that 3rd dimension, air, atmosphere etc over the 10ms avx's
bass for me seems a little much by times and a little boomy on some notes

10ms?

great version all the same much is good and better

Rich vein of form Gordon, 4.15 avx it well ahead of 4.08 avx, really surprised how much deeper it digs.
Really enjoying what I am hearing this evening...the new top MQNPlay.
Only listened with MQNControl 1024 so far but sounds great.
Cheers,
Pearse.

better than 4.14 ?

uploaded 4.16, slight tweak to 4.14, find 4.15 kills off some of the atmospherics.

I thought the bass was great.
More weight, punch and clarity
I never found it boomy.

For me, 4.12 has the best bass I have heard from mqn in a while
I think its important we compare back to 10ms to make sure we are on the right track.
