New B&W 800 Series

Nice pictures indeed.... if one had the dosh!!

I did not see the 801 unit, with the 15" Bass driver. Are they still intending to make this unit?

Cloney's are supposed to have the new 800D on demo at the moment. Has anybody had the chance to listen to it? I see that B&W have dropped the 801 & 803S from the new series.

I have not heard them but I have seen them in the shop and they really look the part!

I'd be curious to hear what people think as I've read in a few places that some of the new range are brighter sounding than the previous series, particulary the 802.

Apparently the pair in the shop are going for a demo soon so if people want to hear them best get there sometime soon......

I had a chance to spend a few hours with with the 802Ds driven my McIntosch amps and source. They had good soundstage and resolution and were well integrated but I didn't find them exciting or inviting. That said I was never a B&W fan. To my ears they are a definite improvement over the older series but for me they are just not the sound I look for.
