Hi Guys , Just a quick tale , I recently had to move on my Hifi gear which was in my opinion quite a good set up of Primare/Cyrus and PMC with all the branded cables , supports etc .
Last night i decided to put on a Katie Malua CD on my Sony Blue ray ( 179 euros) feeding a Denon AV amp 1911, and connected to a pair of B&W M1s with a PV1 handling the bass .
I must say it was one of the most enjoyable evenings for music i have had in a long time and found myself listening to CD after CD , Possibly i was "Music starved" as its being a long time since i have had the opportunity to sit down of an evening and listen to some music .
I found myself not looking for dept , soundstage or bass definition , i found myself just listening to the Music .
A strange phenonmem when i think about the amount of money i spent putting together the CD based system .
Has technology moved on so much that an AV system primarily for Movies can give some serious Music satisfaction ?
Any thoughts ?
Enjoying Music

Totally shared.
One way to get this effect on the main system is to sit off-centre. Always works for me!

Re: Enjoying Music
I must admit, I find it very difficult these days to get time to sit down and listen to HiFi. Always having to get other things done, and when the weather is good outdoor jobs take priority.
However when the opportunity does arrive I like to settle down with a good bottle of red after dinner, browsing the www, finish off reading the paper while listening to some tunes.
Time is in short supply too often.
Regards,
Adrian.

I understand what you are saying JFK as I too just LOVE listening to music.

Having not listened to music for a long time may have had a bearing on your experience.JFK wrote:Hi Guys , Just a quick tale , I recently had to move on my Hifi gear which was in my opinion quite a good set up of Primare/Cyrus and PMC with all the branded cables , supports etc .
