agree.
cleaness improved, but balance still not good as v2.4.3 and v1.7. need find reason why SQ improved, left and right channel good sounding, clean, but in total... imbalance. v2.8x used new method for getting wasapi COM object, only working with pointers, didn't use standard recommended by windows API. more benefit in code, need more optimize code.

piano getting better. weight is better.
piano notes need more body and less sudden impact.

sorry. busy playing around with the new 8.1 iso from msdn.

2.90 seems to sound fine.

try 8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_4065090.iso. try core edition (pro/enterprise=sucks)
this new 8.1 > old 8.1 and 8

my 2012 hasn't improved for 2 weeks. (resolution rather high + but timing not catch up = slightly bloated)
this new 8.1 has much more potential. (only slightly tweaked. using ms drivers. basic blue color+blue wallpaper). already have balance sound. more solid, less jitters than all previous win8.
old R2 has the most boring tune. (not tried new R2 yet). this new 8.1 has no issue.

haven't touched any metro craps. already sounds great.

welcome to new win8.1, maybe stable for audio. but need keep one bad OS for testing, bad OS can easier detect many deffects of player, hehe...
my win8 pro now makes all software players imbalance, maybe absolute good player can give correct sound in my OS. interesting, bad OS helps see true face of player. use good OS for listening and endjoy music.

still testing it hehe... so far ok
soundstage almost the same. actually better a little. micro-detail > 2012

funny, same tweak works for 7,8 and 8.1. same effect.
even desktop wallpaper, color has same effect.
only windows explorer tweak is different.
tweaks don't work in 7, also don't work in 8 and 8.1
haha
i think microsoft uses same source code from vista. nothing really changed.
recompile vista/7 + metro = win8.1

2.90's piano is totally going the right direction.
start to feel very real. i can start to really follow each note.
if possible, make more body in notes! may already be 100%?!

only balance, JC.
brightness, sharpness, cleaness, soundstage,... and other things are OK, vibration also in good level. only balance between channels still have little issue. when its balance will be stable, focus will be more correct and sound body automatically enough. balance...
