Mandatory listening for Holy Wednesday. If forced to choose my all time favorite Hyperion recording, this would be it.

Recorded as far back as 2008 for radio broadcast by ORF, it´s now available on cd. 2 marvelous cantatas by Giovanni Ferrandini exquisitely performed by Roberta Invernizzi.

This is another essential Holy Week recording. Dorothea Röschmann and Soile Isokoski, now 2 super famous opera stars, were at the beginning of their careers when this recording was made over 20 years ago.
Fux´s oratorio is a masterpiece.

You have chosen some very interesting music there Pepe. I must check out that Fux as I think I recall you mentioning it before.

Re: What are you listening two?
I have just listened to some very beautiful music from this collection....
Palestrina: Lesson 1 for Maundy Thursday
Lassus: Lessons 1 & 3 for Maundy Thursday.
The Lassus is gorgeous but the Palestrina is exquisite!

Re: What are you listening two?
Currently listening to "Quatre Motets pour un temps de penitence" from this 2 CD set....
These are very interesting Motets in that they are written in the "old style" but with "modern" harmonies.
