As you know Dave this is always pleasant, enjoyable and engaging music to listen to. This is well played music with well paced speeds in the outer movements and the effortless virtuosity of the soloist, Michael Schneider, is wonderful to hear. Although nicely done, the slow movements were not quite as successful as they could be but I am very fussy about my Vivaldi slow movements!! For me that quintessential element of a sense of the lazy, languid, dead heat of an Italian midday that is the essence of a Vivaldi slow movement is not quite there (but I am being very picky here).
