On my setup it runs again. The recipe:

Try the whole day getting it to work without succeeding.
Run sse2 for two days and do not try avx.
On the third day before 8 am run 100000 again, and it will work.

Or something like this. Who said computers are deterministic? Creatures with a will of their own that's what they are.

But it does work again.

In my system 2.49 is very detailed with nice highs, but to thin, to bright, not enough body!

I could not play to many AVX's (only 2.5; 2.6 and 3.0), but for me they are on top of the chain!
AVX was one of the biggest step ahead.

not bright here. very sweet brightness. treble is sweet too
vocal feels like 100000
music flow is different to 100000
texture ok

like 100000, micro-details is an issue. needs more clarity+clean.
for complex music e.g. rock, soundstage goes a little weird when micro-details/vibrations is dirty.
other times, soundstage feels normal

Could the variability we find with MQn running or not, especially with avx be due to a windows service needing to be started?

BTW I see W8.1 update 1 is available. I wonder whether there'll be any issues or benefits with this.

No point really comparing sse2 to avx
Avx has too much advantage
Avx worth getting a new cpu mobo for
Avx has qualities that puts it ahead of many platforms

2.49 has more detail than 100000 but real dirty like Jc says
Feels like square plug round hole type thing
Especially when many or more complex instruments are playing at once

Weird for 100000 to have so much wrong yet have so much just naturally right

Try 2.37 and 1.1 control for bass

We need a new avx

Avx will fix some of shortcomings of 2.49 I think

Need to go back test old 2.73 448
