Re: System Audio Rangers New Price
Best of luck with your System Audio Rangers sale Frank. They are a stunning looking speaker that would enhance any room. I heard them up in Cloneys a while ago and I was very impressed with them. The only reason I didn't buy them at the time was I feared that the bass would be a little too much for my smallish room, but what bass! Don't forget the speakers include sand chambers which could tame the bass considerably....Still at that price they have to be a bargain!

Re: System Audio Rangers New Price
A friend of mine has some older SA speakers - 1530 or something I think. Anyway, he added the sand to the bottom cavity (in a plastic bag for easy removal) and he reckoned it made a big difference to the sound - but also that it made them much more stable on a carpeted floor (important if there's kids about).
He also advocated pulsar points under them too....

Do or do not, there is no try
Re: System Audio Rangers New Price
The Rangers are on a whole different level to the rest of the SA range. I always found SAs very nice but a bit bass light but the rangers, as Cybot says, have LOADS.

Re: System Audio Rangers New Price
How do they compare to the Explorers? I heard those once on the end of a Krell KAV400xi and they were genuinely fantastic.

So did I, it was a few years ago in Cloney's and the set-up was the Clearaudio Ambient/Tom Evans/Krell KAV400xi/SA Explorers, what a fantastic combination.Diapason wrote:How do they compare to the Explorers? I heard those once on the end of a Krell KAV400xi and they were genuinely fantastic.

Re: System Audio Rangers New Price
Just want to say I have these speakers on pulsar points and can happily recommend the combination.
Bought the rangers from cloney about two years ago for around 3 grand at the time, worth every penny, they have a wonderful midrange with voices sounding particularly fine, I remember while previewing, Noel listening in and remarking that they were very 'fast'. They are very slim and rather easy on the eye as well. Good bargain to whoever takes the plunge.Best o'luck with the sale.Eoin.
