Is something wrong on my side, or V3/V4 still can't handle more than one track if hirez played with it?
only v3 control had a problem I think, try v1

V1 control doesn't even start hirez tracks with 200000 versions of MQn. It can play only 16/44.

Are you running regular versions or 200000?

there are 2 v1 control versions, is that with both ? the 200000 files need to be used together.

I can play hirez only with 200000 versions, so the control I am using is "mqncontrol.exe v1 2000000". It can play only one track, no issues any more as I experience with non 200000, but if I try 2 or more tracks, the second one will lead into continues static noise.

Got it...you can retire now from my side, as someone already said here!
Thank you so much!

so where are we ? We have a minimalist windows wav player which is still heavily influenced by the code and noise generated as the data passes through the cpu. An attractive sound to many, but limited by having to pass data through the cpu, a better option is to use dma and then there is the proposal being discussed in JK's thread. I have heard the nad m50 streamer which is based on a small optimised linux computer and it was better than MQn, so a pure hardware solution should be even better.

I am wondering how would a DMA system look like? Could you give us more information how you see it, please? What's involved, hardware wise, and software wise? I personally don't like streamers, Naim certainly has some, but, to me, too much dependency to the manufacturer. I like flexibility with as little as possible of the "black box". That is the reason why I went this way with USB DAC after selling very nice CDPlayer+Pre+Amp.

Hi

Just wondering if latest versions of MQn supports 24 bit only containers - ie play 16 bit wavs to a DAC that does only accepts everything in 24 bits?

Thanks
