Does Proof Exist That USB cables Affect Sound Quality?

It's a genuine question on most fora but I fear that on this forum it equates to trolling.

It's a genuinely unoriginal troll question on most fora. It has been ever since the first "high end" CD player went on sale and the pseudo scientific numpties spouted their "bits is bits" version of logic.
There is plenty discussion on other threads about measuring such things (or not) so go read them first. As has been pointed out here many times one's ears are the only instrument that really matter.

we've had a bit of a troll clear out recently so it might be best not to ask the same questions over and over again.

There have been plenty of civilised debates on this forum from subjective vs objective points of view on various topics. But its plainly obvious you're trolling. At the very least post some technical views as to why you think they cannot sound different.

For the record, I dont think differences exist between most USB cables but noise riding on signals *might* have an affect downstream so not beyond impossibility.

For the record I'd be very surprised to hear any difference (improvement) too but I've been surprised by cables before! Not only that but people on this forum, whose judgement I trust, have said they heard differences. I don't feel the need to demand subject proof on random hifi forums. That would be silly.

DaveF nailed it in one. Max unfortunately adopts the goldfish route and just swims round the bowl and asks the same question ad finitum.
If a person asks him to go off and get information he just swims back round the bowl and pops up with the same question in another format.
It is kinda fun really but eventually wears thin.


For the record I struggle with usb cables also but have bought a few and have a favourite. I also did conduct a kitchen counter test blindfolded and picked out the same chunky cable each time.

Just noticed DaveF's last post and that sums it up Max if you can't convince a cable non believer like DaveF you are on a sticky wicket.

Lock it up Fran before it gets as big as the MQN thread.
