Speaker repair

Post by plunkfra »

Any advice where I might find a competent repair service for an Usher S-520 speaker? There's no sound coming from the mid-bass cone. I suspect a component on the crossover is blown. My son was playing music rather loud and although the amp's protection circuit kicked in it seems it was not enough to protect one of the speakers.

Hope someone can advise.
Thanks

I should have mentioned the amp is ok and the connections are fine. I tested everything thus isolating the problem to the speaker.

Hi,

I just googled them up. Let’s try, I hope they’ll be able to help you.

Or perhaps someone from the forum with the right skills will be able to fix it?

I’ve sent in the past crossover for upgrade to UK to HI Fi Collective. You have to add cost of the shipment and return.

Good luck anyway.

Guys, thanks for the responses on this. After looking into it a little more I am going to have a stab at fixing the speaker myself (and doing some DIY upgrades at the same time).

Thanks again
