Putting it directly on the pins of the connector looks a much nicer job

But I told you already, for me the USB-card will be mounted horizontally so I need a flexible ribbon to connect to my mobo.
I will shield it with copper tape though. But I don't see another way besides using ribbon.

I asked Marcin if the USB-card will require 12V or 3.3V.
I don't know yet what it uses to power itself.

If it is 3.3V then these prefab ribbons are of no use because they all feed the 12V lines.

BTW I didn't buy this cable (yet). I just bought a few short 1x to 1x cables, to use in a plain and in a modified connection.

Cheers

ah only meant it in jest

dont take me too serious

bit of copper foil will help surely, might be worth trying a bit of 3m sheet in there too

i wouldnt expect much with the clean power to pci input, but we take what we can get i suppose

how much better are you expecting this card to be than the PPA?

did you get a chance to try that c++ update yet? for mqn

I have not had it open for a while so I will try the 3Ms as well.

What I hear the JCAT stuff is each time just that bit better than the PPA.
How much I won't know as I've never heard the PPA card, but I expect it to be good, certain,y better than straight from my mobo now.

I hope to try the C++ this weekend, during the week I don't have much time (or energy) to do much testing.

Cheers

Just got a confirmation from Marcin.

The JCAT USB card is fed only from 3.3V pins of the PCI-E bus.

So that means any riser-card with external power will have to be a DIY one because all pre-fab cables feed the 12V pins.

Can't make it tomorrow. We are all routing for the NCat vs the PPang. Well our pockets are anyway.
But sure you know before you start there will be no difference between the cables.
