Yes, together with the Alicia de LaRoccha set, these are my most favourite Mozart Sonata interpreters.Seán wrote:Fergus, I really like it, recommended.fergus wrote:Aleg wrote:

I have no idea why but my instinct would be to go for the De LaRoccha set first?!?!

It would be difficult for me to chose between those two sets. It's like choosing a favourite child.fergus wrote:Aleg wrote:

I regularly play discs from both of them.

Re: What are you listening two?
Whereas mine is to go for anything by Clara Haskil, I must seek out the De LaRoccha set. When considering a complete cycle I would choose the gorgeous cycle by Klára Würtz first; Fergus if I am not mistaken you already have her complete Mozart cycle?fergus wrote:Aleg wrote:Yes, together with the Alicia de LaRoccha set, these [Pires] are my most favourite Mozart Sonata interpreters.Seán wrote:

Indeed Seán, I actually have three complete cycles....
Klara Wurtz [Piano]
Mitsuko Uchida [Piano]
Alexei Lubimov [Fortepiano]
I find this music so intriguing that I would have no problem in doubling that account!

Re: What are you listening two?
This is the second listen in a week to this CD....
It has some wonderful music on it particularly a work by a Padraig O'Connor called Introspect which is just amazing.
