-good old Fibonacci has top transparent sound! emotion is intense! think it feels natural
-very smooth. less vibration.

need more time to compare.

-maybe fibonacci has better soundstage than 2.40.2.
-fibonacci has mellower treble when 2.40x can sound like hard treble.
-2.40x has better vocal. only because 2.40.1 has better vocal vibration/detail and more positive tune.
-2.40x maybe more free than fibonacci.
-2.41x has best vibration.

difficult to choose.
still like 2.40.1 best. soundstage is "first person", simple and big. vibration/free/open/air/rich/musical nuance/emotion/tune everything is enough. 2.40.1 just focus on music

2.42 sounds like brother of 2.20 to 2.23. high micro vibration but mellowed(little weak) power. less density so piano notes less solid.

seems getting more challenging to find correct sound.

in general for all versions, i think vocal emotion is about 99-100%. vocal detail is about 98-99%.
-maybe try increase vibration at easily hard trebles? (fibonacci is best at this)
-also increase vocal vibration? i think these two things can improve a lot.
-for now, maybe just use 2.40.1's simple soundstage. i feel the simpler the soundstage, the less the problems.

after installing Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 Update 4, v2.42 sounds different. better! much better than this morning! do you have VS2013 installed already?

people says win8.1 sound good ~ ws2012. think will setup win8.1/vs2013 later.

no. don't use 8.1/R2! much worse.

under same tweaks
2012>R2. (in my case 20% better)

don't make me use R2 haha. it is difficult enough to tweak 2012. R2 has much much more crap to deal with.

uninstalled C++ update4... impressive at first. better bass/vibration. less mellow/emotion. better background music clarity. messed up my soundstage. width +5% than norm. don't know why.

uploaded v2.43 256 8 , increased vibration, soundstage have more stable. open/free sound, better balanced. try and enjoy.

finally have time to test!

vocal only. one song only- "eyes on me" from FF
this song is special. i never heard 100% vibration+emotion. i have heard 100% vibration. 100% emotion. never both at the same time. only one time i heard too much vibration from one version of MQn (but earaches + lacks emotion). vocal vibration is difficult in this song i think (due to the recording?).

2.43 //99% vibration. 98.5%emotion. rich. good balance between density and vibration. lost interest half way
2.42 //99% vibration. 98%emotion. good high density. lost interest half way
2.40.2 //99% vibration. 1% too mellow. 99.5%emotion
2.41.2 //99% vibration.
2.31 fibonacci //extra something special. 2.4x doesn't have.
2.41.1 //99.5%vibration 0.5% too mellow. 99.8%emotion. can't stop listening

conclusion: best vocal needs 2.40 + 2.31 fibonacci + 2.43 + 2.41.1 + 2.40.2.
