Forgive my naivity, but I'm a little overwhelmed by all the different versions offered for download. I get the general principle but would appreciate a little guidance on a starting point. I'm using a Intel I3 Windows 8 laptop and Ciunas DAC. What would be the best exe and control files to begin with?

What happens is it either just stalls or it shows for up for just an instant and disappears, depending on which version I am using.

I am using an Asus P8z77-V pro mobo. I am currently in core mode, how do I stop Jplay services? Maybe that is my problem.

Thanks

As nige200 says, 8.1 sounds like WS2012 R2. That is because the audio kernel files are the same in both versions and we are told were substantially rewritten by Microsoft for those versions.

8.1 obviously has more consumer interface and other 'useful' stuff added to it, but the underlying code being used by MQn is the same. 8.1 is of course much more affordable.
