yes, not sure it wil make a difference to SQ though

With "2.71 2048 raw background 8" I Can't play anything above 16/44!!!
With "2.71 Time1" (my favorite) I was able to play ONLY HiRez files!

Is it "BackgroundPriority" ONLY for W8.1, same as "Latency Sensitive"? I'm running W8 and I have non of them!

So far the 2.71 2048 raw background 8 looks very promising, but I would like to be able to compare with Time 1.

Can anyone confirm that for Win 7 the only possible (current) mqncontrol and mqnplay combination is:

mqncontrol.exe 4 core affinity v2 + mqnplay.exe 3.10 sse4 intel?

At least that's all I can get to work. I imagine if I changed CPU core parking settings/C-State settings I may be able to use mqncontrol 2 core affinity v2, and the sse4 mqnplay is simply because that's what my particular processor's (intel i7-870) instruction set is. I only ask because I can't seem to get any of the other combinations working on my machine under the "MQn Files" Google Drive folder. All other combos seem to give me, after mqnload launches mqncontrol, a "The instruction at (value) referenced memory at (value). The memory could not be written." error.

Thanks.

I *think* it does? More fluidity/3D, maybe? It makes a modicum of sense to me, in theory, given that mqncontrol takes up about 79k private bytes.

came across an interesting blog post from mr WASAPI himself

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/matthew_van_eer ... eriod.aspx

in the text he says that the audio engine tries to maintain a 10ms cadence

So have uploaded a version of control and play that has 10ms period, 448 samples (16/44.1 only)

2.71 448 10

the pro audio MMCSS clock rate setting is 10158

does sound quite/very musical, though thinner than larger buffer versions

maybe buffers which are a factor of 10ms would work best.

for my soundcard, when using native asio:
setting buffer to
10ms it uses 444 actual frames (but desire=441)
but when buffer is big enough, from say
40ms it actually uses 1764 actual frames (desire=1764. actual=desire!!!! perfection?)

in reality, 40ms sounds terrible. prefer the sound of 10ms and 8ms buffers when using native ASIO.

basically, bigger the buffer size, the smaller the difference between actual and desire until 40ms.

might have the same behavior for wasapi.

this is how my native ASIO works:
actual and desire is smaller and smaller as buffer gets bigger.
ms samples
1 48
2 92
4 180
6 268
8 356
10 444
20 884
30 1324
40 1764
50 2208
60 2648
80 3528

Is anyone running MQN on 2012 R2? I was running on R1 with no problems, but when I installed R2 it no longer works.

Thanks

Yes, I do.
No problems here. Run it on two machines.

What's happening?

Cheers
