i am still testing my soundcard driver haha... i changed them all. result not good.

i have 2 sys and 2 dll files for my driver.

but if i change just 1 file. it is better. trying to figure out the best combination. will take long time... for me..

"Software Environment" -> "System Drivers"

look up your driver name. should be a sys file.

alright... i think my driver mod is correct. it must be revealing my old bad tweaks. hard to believe it can add so air and deepness but it is giving me earaches.

time to have fun investigating....

many things. also in Device Manager/Cirrus Logic High Definition Audio/Driver Details many.. many .sys, .dll.
when i use HDMI windows use Intel(R) Display Audio, also many, many. difficult. ok, now will try optimize code of lekt project, hehe..

pkshan modded his audiofire DAC driver too. he said it is a small SQ increase.

my soundcard is a special case i think. i have big SQ boost. like going from MQn 2.10 to 2.71. i was shocked last night.

finally no earache!!! it is good idea to restart PC after installing new driver.. hehe...

EDITED:

modding STX soundcard driver (2 of 4 files total):

mod cmudaxp.sys- SQ huge boost. dry. lost texture.
mod cmudaxp64sys- mellower. recover some texture.
mod cmudaxp.dll- mellower. recover texture.
mod cmiFltr.dll- SQ drop drop and drops!!

i guess cmiFitr.dll is filter driver. filter driver is a big negative for SQ!

am very happy with the sound.

NOTE: must mod with ultraedit

2.25>2.25.2. 2.25 more vibration. best vibration on earth.

after the soundcard mod, it becomes so much easier to hear lack of vibration in 2.25.2.
prior to soundcard mod, i would have preferred 2.25.

alright. bad news. cannot use stud_PE. must use ultraedit for best SQ. need to redo the mod.

damn ultraedit. pain in the ass.
