2.20>2.20.1

2.20.1 is on the edge to become harsh. earaches.
2.20 flows better.

JC, need look up for readfile versions 1.xx, now with RamDisk these versions seem much better. i'm looking and optimizing code from these versions.

repeat notice:
v1.xx load data to buffer from file;
v2.xx pre-load file to RAM, then load data to buffer from RAM.

my 1.xx favorite is 1.8 v2.
after that version, 1.9 didn't work.
please remind me other good 1.xx version?

1.8 v2 has more energy and very direct.
2.20 is very polite and much more refined.

how do you setup the ramdisk?

i use <256MB + fat16.

when <256MB, fat16 has bigger cluster size than fat32 and ntfs
fat16 and fat32 are more 'pure'. no security no bullshits.

ramdisk has effect on both 2.xx and 1.xx

i use 128MB/FAT default (FAT16). drag files into RamDisk drive, so need let running Radeon RAMDisk Configuration Utility or not? think don't need?

v1.7 is best, but have 1 bug, some times (2-3 times) double-click bat file to run. i will recompile 1.7

usually read file by 4k (4096 bytes), lekt player used this mode.
i've seen result for reading in 4k mode:
Bond Disc 1.0.4.0 : 1352MB/s
Gilisoft RAMDisk 4.7 : 1061MB/s
SoftPerfect RAM Disk 3.3.1 : 1027MB/s

there's Bond Disc is best?

will test them. very interesting...

now randomly choose and testing Primo, because it is not freeware.

it actually sounds very mellow/airy. this is going to be a big competition. they all sound different i think!
