have uploaded a raw background version, sounds ok, more natural than the previous raw background. I think win 8.1/R2 needs the category setting. Raw seems to add more clarity. Anyway, plenty of micro detail with this version.

takes the mid and treble of 1024 and gives it more space/separation and dynamics, very nice, bass is improved as well, ridiculous amount of detail from 16/44.1 and still tuneful.

Gordon

I hardly dare to give praise again to again a new version, but this one is gorgeous.

Great clarity, also in the reverb, relaxed sound, very good spatial separation. Tonally balanced presentation. Tried it with some Händel piano solo and Haydn piano trios.
I think you've surpassed yourself again.
Only listened to it over the speakers, will leave it till tomorrow to compare and to use headphones.

Cheers

I don't like the effect reclock has, initially impressive, but soon get's tiring.

what about running mqnplay.exe from ram disk
Anyone one of you RAMDisk enthusiasts try SBGK's suggestion?
What about MQnload.exe for those using that excellent programme from taggart.
Any other files that might be good in RAMDisk?

Many thanks if you have done any of these.

Is anyone running this in minimal server mode? Here is my problem when the music finishes playing I hit x and it closes the cmd prompt window. Is the a way to open another window without rebooting?

Thanks

total commander to navigate solve your issue?

i havent used minimal server mode myself in a while with all the changes but i will try it again if all settles a bit

mixed feelings about the reclock
piano sounds better
sound is mellower
think detail is lost
some tracks sound weird
a lot of change

need to listen more
is it possible that the reclock sounds different on win 7 than r2 etc?

its one thing to optimize a pc for audio
it would be a completely different to use an optimized pc/os for developing playback software

trying out the new 1024's this evening and sound good. For whatever reason maybe just my system set up I revert back to 2.66 v2. Smoothest presentation still for me with all required detail. 2.71 v2 also works very well for me. Is it possible to do a 1024 version of this for comparison?

Mjock windows key and x doesn't work on minimal? Using R2 but not in minimal mode. Nigels suggestion sorts it for you I am sure.

what is reclock doing ? I thought the sp/dif converter had very accurate clocks and being bit perfect means that the required no of bits are being sent in the required time frame. So does reclock resync the time to it's own clock which means moving bits about , in which case is it no longer bit perfect.

be prepared to look at 2.66 again as have a way doing the complete render loop in assembly now which should make it smoother, think 2.71 1024 raw background is best at moment. listening to 2.66 just now and not very smooth, a bit shouty.
