For Sale - Nordost Blue Heaven Rev II Biwire (Now Sold)

Post by cbarone »

Hi forum,

3m pair of Blue Heaven bi-wire speaker cable with banannas at both ends. The cables are in immaculate condition.

With original Nordost pack/box. I'd rate the cable as 9 out of ten, its perfect, mine for the last 5 years and connecting KEF reference speakers to a Meridian power amp at the moment. I am in the market for a high quality XLR interconnect so swaps are very possible. I am looking for no less than 250 euro as these cables stood me well delivering many nights musical magic. I have pictures but not sure how to add them here? If you want please request and I can email pics to you.

Note: these are the Rev II version.

Thanks,

Charlie

P.S. I have just been lucky enough to upgrade to Transparent Audio speaker cables hence the Nordost sale.

Hi Charlie,

I am interested to know what Transparent Audio cable you got and how it is different from the Nordost.

Cheers,
Fergus.

Hi Fergus,

Its Transparent Audio Ultra XL. Apart from the physical size of it and the higher price I can't comment any further as I haven't hooked it up yet. No chance until the weekends and I'm floating around the place waiting to hear it !

My KEF Ref 4-2's are monsters in a medium size room and I'm hoping the new cables dampen down the rock style top end. That's the plan anyway but I'll let you know how we get on. Apparently I'm going to get more '3D'........... so perhaps its a TV I bought?

Regards,

Charlie

Ok the Transparent Audio Ultra XL update -

Tough time connecting the TA speaker cables to my power amp but nothing short of armageddon was going to prevent progress. The TA cable is very heavy but once you hide the 'network boxes' its visually tidy. Like everyone else, if my other half knew what these 'wires' cost I would be in serious trouble, so its a disguise them and keep the peace.

I am not a reviewer and will struggle to quantify the change to the sound however I can say the TA cables made a huge difference to my setup. Last year I added a 2nd power amp, bridged to get 1kW, and honestly the gains in switching to the TA cables far outshine adding the power amp. Its amazing that your existing setup can be so capable yet so limited by speaker cables. Well worth the money if you can pick them up second hand. Soundstage is actually there, like a wall coming at you, with some elements of 3D on instruments (the seller was right)! More detail than I ever heard before so lot of albums were dusted down and back out for a listen. The only downside is in the very top end of acoustic where the Nordost BH did actually have a better clarity on the guitar strings. But then its a personal thing and there has to be some trade-off cable to cable.

We all need to be signed in, this hi-fi infatuation is definitely an addiction.
My buddy has loaned me a pair of TA Reference XLR interconnects for the week, they have taken me a notch further into hifi insanity. Even more 3D, its lunacy as these things cost well over a grand second-hand, that's if you can ever find them for sale.

Back to the rubber wallpaper in the listening room for me tonight.

Hi Nico,

I am in the US this week and didn't get a chance to update the forum with the latest info. These cables are pretty much sold but I won't be dispatching them until next week when I am back. Thanks for your interest, I will let you know if there is any change.

Regards,

Charlie

Nico,
I have Blue Heaven as well... they might even be 5 metre lenghts. Same as above, bi-wired. With Nordost Z plugs, essentially their own banana plugs. PM me if you're interested.
