Any Henry Threadgill fans over here? I'm looking for some recommendations.

Thanks

Ah 'Night Train', Jimmy Forrest's rip-off of Duke Ellington's Happy-Go-Lucky-Local, it's a good tune. Duke threatened to sue but never did.

If you like the Bill Evans, you might be interested in Django Bates Beloved Bird. It's a bit more "out there" but is a very fine modern take on the piano trio and reworks some classic Charlie Parker compositions.

SQ is good, though the bass can seem a little recessed on a few tracks.

I'm never sure if I like this album. I think I do.

I am not one for rock guitarists but I do really enjoy Metheny's playing and sure Mehldau is usually good. That said, I have several of Mehldau's earlier recordings and haven't listened to them in quite some time. I might blow the dust off a couple and give them a spin this weekend.
