the thing is that i cannot say MQn>XA on his blog. coz he already claims that his player is best on earth lol. i already told him MQn has much better piano sound. he didn't listen. it is a shame to see XA not getting better in aspects he may not realize. if people start to tell him, we'll have real competition between the two players.sbgk wrote:just pulling your leg. the SQ is quite different between the players so am a little confused that you find them comparable.jesuscheung wrote:[
hmm... don't go against XA... i am here for SQ. MQn and XA are the only two players i know that every update involves better SQ. there is only one true sound, if two players output the same SQ, we can have some confidence in true sound. in vocal, XA and MQn are very close. for other aspects, MQn is much already better. i am actually trying to get people compare XA vs MQn so that shanpc would improve XA. in a way, yes i want to help improve XA as much as i would for MQn. if you dislike my comments on XA, i would stop.

Here I am! Just need a few days for a quick proof of concept concerning some aspects. Just to be shure, not to post ideas that finally can't be done due to any reason. Hope to post a list with the most important functionality at comming weekend. As I can work only on the project in my spare time, it will take a few weeks, but I plan to post beta versions (that my be uncomplete/unstable) as soon as possible.sbgk wrote:Was speaking to a German guy called Christoph who was going to rewrite the mqn.bat as an executable, advised him to post his ideas here. He said he had signed up to tnh.

Re: MQN
Just stated to try MQn, ....
No sound, using a VLink-II. The dac (Matrix mini-I) shows 96Khz when I try to run MQn.bat. and silence.
The .wav files are on the NAS, do they have to be local ?

yes, but it's about the quality of the silence.Peter Stockwell wrote:Just stated to try MQn, ....

try playing a 16/44.1 track, they don't need to be local as far as I know, suppose you could try it. Most likely your dac wants 24 bit. Does the dac normally show 96 Khz ?

Re: MQN
It's the bloody V-Link-II, I pulled it out and just use the usb connection, direct to the dac.sbgk wrote:yes, but it's about the quality of the silence.Peter Stockwell wrote:Just stated to try MQn, ....

The V-Link II shows in windows as 24/96k device, but the matrix mini-I is limited to 16/48k on usb, which is no sweat.
Sweet music !
First impressions are very favourable.
Where can I get the MQN.exec2 for usb ?
Using 2.59 sse4 intel 8 4 16 16 8.

All my WAV-files are on a NAS.
Works fine
Most causes in my system when there was no sound comming from MQn:
- Wrong default playback device choosen.
MQn-player outputs too 'Default playback device'
- C++ not installed or not updated.
(on a fresh server 2012 install. On my system MQn only works after a C++ update)

Re: MQN
Strange, no need to do any updates for C++ here. Not on Windows Server 2012 and not on R2.markvandepas wrote:- C++ not installed or not updated.

Hi,jesuscheung wrote:according to XA, win7 is best for SQ. XA is making audiophile win7 installation iso. can't wait. maker of XA has best hifi ears i know on earth. he is almost never wrong on tweaks in regard to SQ. he is an enthusiast like us.nige2000 wrote: Win 8.1 is a nice improvement
what did you think of it
I'm interested in those windows optimizations, but this is the first time I hear about XA.
Can you point me too the XA website?
I’m very interested in all optimizations XA applies.
Also from other sources.
What WIN7, WIN8 or Sever 2012 optimizations do other inmates now about?
Currently I only know server 2012 optimizations By Tchuyev which are targeted at Jplay.
Tchuyev scripts are much too intrusive (too my tasted) on one hand and on the other hand they are not complete. For instance: Tchuyev scripts don’t stop ‘performance checking’ and also do not lower the USB polling frequency.
So I’m curious too see what more optimizations scripts are out there and what they do.

Where do i find these options?,can't get this working at all.Tried this so many times now. When i double click MQn.bat a file appears for 1/2 a second than nothing..

Re: MQN
this is optimization recommended by JIE. i modded it. i "REM" out and deleted those settings i feel harmful to SQ. check it out. see if it helps SQ. see if i am doing anything wrong.markvandepas wrote: So I’m curious too see what more optimizations scripts are out there and what they do.
