News just in : GRATEFUL DEAD “SUNSHINE DAYDREAM” On August 27, 1972, fresh off their now-legendary European tour, the Grateful Dead travelled to Veneta, Oregon and reunited with the Merry Pranksters to throw a benefit concert for the Kesey family s Springfield Creamery. The show, which was recorded and filmed but never released, has since become the most-requested live show in Grateful Dead history.
The concert which is considered to be the Merry Pranksters last "Acid Test" offers a snapshot of the band at the peak of its playing prowess and features the classic lineup of: Jerry Garcia, Donna Jean Godchaux, Keith Godchaux, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. The setlist that day included memorable performance of "Sugaree, " "Deal, " "Black-Throated Wind, " "Greatest Story Ever Told, " "Bird Song" and a mind-melting version of "Dark Star" that stretches over 30 minutes.
cheers Dermot!

No Dave, it's not the Europe '72 set! It's actually the 'new' 4 Lp set :)
I deleted a number of posts from this page as chrome had been flagging the page as malware. I'm not sure 100% if its all sorted - but IE throws up no such problems and chrome on my pc works now. To fix the problem I deleted the last few posts.
I think the main people affected were Cybot and ConorW - sorry lads!
This was one of the albums I brought to have a listen to on Pearse's scout turntable amongst the PC madness in Tony's the other week.
Lovely album and a favourite of mine.
These guys are Ry Cooder's backing singers from the era of Showtime above - and are fantastic in their own right. Cooder produced this album and played on almost every track I think.
one of my favourite albums ever and a regular reference disc especially on vinyl. I've had various copies since mid '70s and it still gets played A LOT!
