Allan Pettersson may have had the most horrible life of any composer ever. But his symphonies are very fine, especially the 7th and the 8th. Those who love Mahler should investigate.

Thank you Pepe; I will look up and listen to Allan Pettersson.

Symphonies 1 & 4 followed by 2 & 6

Quite a different approach to Jarvi or HvK.

I quite agree Dave....perhaps it is the warmer acoustic and tone that does this? Definitely not as bleak (in terms of the reality of a harsh Nordic landscape) a presentation as HvK for sure.

it appears that, whether I intended to or not, I have purchased an Organ Concerto, as Handel intended No.4 to be part of this work. I think that's OK within this context, but I'm not sure I could eat a whole one...
