Ok understand now well as posted above if they work well and deliver what the car batteries did then it is quids in at an affordable enough price. Is the intention to use the maplins to trickle charge them?

You wouldn't need a linear supply to charge them - a neat 12V SMPS will do the job just fine - the battery pack absorbs the crud as far as I can hear.

Oh & BTW, Tony you can charge at the same time as playing - even with my Anker & I would presume with the smaller one too!!

For Digital Audio playback that delivers WHERE the performers are on stage but more importantly WHY they are there.

Yes John the small one I have charged from the usb port. Have high hopes for the second usb stick on the control pc. Then the anker will not need a google nexus or phone plugged in to keep it switched on.

Will put the lifepo4's on my santa list hopefully a few listens before then will confirm they do the business. At least the maplins can be reused on a control pc in the future. Recycle resuse etc

im going to go right on ahead and recommend these for sq and value

Image

just place them between your power source and your pc for the cpu and pico
increase voltage to 12.4/12.5v for best results
sd card player, modded soekris dac, class a lifepo4 amp or gb class a/b amp, diy open baffle speakers based on project audio mundorf trio 10's

That photo is not going to keep any of us out of an asylum. How do you increase the volts on it I would have thought you had no control over that oh I take it you are talking about the maplin is this just to ensure they charge and put out the 12v to the pc?
They seem very reasonable. I take it you haven't got the lifepo4's?

as things go this CAN be quite a tidy solution, these 7ah batteries are not much bigger than jks ciunas/jkdac

I was connected to the trilinear with the voltage dials, sound was better than my s/h vehicle batteries, i brought the voltage up to what the batteries were charged up to which was 12.5v
it improved the sq marginally but we will take everything we can get especially if its free

i will be testing lifepo4s to supply 12v somehow as they natively will want to put out 13.2v and at 12-12.5 they will be well depleted and might lose there effectiveness, its on the to do list anyway
these 7ah €20 each youll not build lifepo4 config and charging solution for anything near that, if lifepo4 sounds better it will be a off the shelf 12v lifepo4 @ €120 odd each that will be the solution as it wont be worth the hassle to diy it

Ok will have to ignore this thread for the rest of the day and try and do some diy to keep me out of the doghouse.
Can we lose the molegrips and just use some nuts and bolts or maybe solder? Personally I don't need a devialet but mole grips in the front room is not a runner

You're keeping the front room looking nice there, Nige. What voltage are you seeing on the batteries and which is the most effective, the Pico supply or the motherboard direct?
i5 QuietPC , JplayFemto , Singxer SU-6 , Holo Audio Spring DAC ,LAB12 Preamp, Roundtree Mono Amps, Rosso Fiorentino Elba 2 Speakers

The voltage thing not a big deal more of an observation
think it affects the filtration effect in the batteries
I didnt try different voltages on the pico or cpu I either had them both at 12 or at 12.4v
The question i though I was answering was would the batteries work better at 12.5 than 12v ? And I think they do a small bit better

Dont forget the mole grips as it wont sound right without them :)
