Multiple FLAC files to MP3 - how to do this?

I have all my FLAC files stored as follows:

My Music, Band Name, Album Title, Music Files.

Is it possible to setup some program to rip MP3 files from the FLAC files and store them as follows:

MP3 Files, Band Name, Album Title, Music Files.

The MP3 files can be copied en masse to my smartphone, thus keeping the structure and music listing that I know.

Have a look at the free trial of dbpoweramp -- I tried the ripper but believe it has a batch option for converting files ..

if I'm understanding what you are saying you want your flacs converted to MP3 and stored in a folder called MP3?








dBPoweramp will let you do this with its batch conversion utility.

If xrecode scares the s**t out of you (as it did me, when I clicked on Fran's link!), check out www.mediamonkey.com.

It allows you to convert FLAC to any quality of MP3 that you desire - and to put the converted MP3 in any location that you wish. Can't remember if this functionality requires the Gold (I.e. payable) licence, but the website is very clear on this.

I use this as my CD ripper for one key reason - I can rip to FLAC into my main library, and transcode to MP3 when I sync my idevices - so, a single lossless rip - with automatic conversion to MP3 for my iPod, iPhone and iPad. No need to maintain dual libraries.
