I've just been reading an article on world debt..

apparently, Ireland has the largest Gross private sector foreign owned debt as % of GDP in the world... 900%.. Malta are 2nd with 481%, then Singapore 465%, then Britain are 4th with 364% of GDP... man, I thought we were in a tight corner!!

well, that is more than our war reparations loan we took out with the US in 1946, and we paid the final installment in 2006...

however if all you Tir Na boys bought your music locally rather than through Amazon (who only pay nominal tax to Luxembourg), then you might be able to revive the economy!

I will be very interested to learn what you make of it Fergus as I have started listening to that Beethoven cycle too and to Abbado's Schubert cycle. I'll say nothing lest you consider me biased.

I´m almost sure our dear friend Fergus KNOWS that we are biased to Abbado, and I don´t mind to declare myself a fan :-)

That's good, now all I need is the time to listen to them. ;)
