Tell you one thing, you can learn how to pick a point and then stick to it no matter what from them lads!

They are simply in denial wrapped up in their comfort blankie, fingers in ears shouting lalalalala as loud as possible.

And that tells you all you need to know. That is the reason I don't frequent the UK forums, that and the snide remarks.

Tony,
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
When they say that what you hear cannot be,they are looking at the problem arseways.
They should be saying, if you can hear a difference by inserting linear power supplies, we should try and find a scientific explanation as to why.
As I have posted already there was a very obvious improvement in the sound quality of Fran's system when he reinserted tha power supplies.

I would like to congratulate Tony for his "battle" over on the Wam. I thought you were a true gentleman in the way you carried yourself on that thread! Well done!

I get a bit of the same over on the danish forum, but I also feel I have opened a few peoples eyes as to what streaming can achieve beyond Sonos or SB.... Again the big question is: Have they tried it?

I don't know Claus I think the improvements are too good not to at least try and share and some of them are starting to bite.
Too much time on my hands this weekend as I normally wouldn't dig myself into such a painful mess. A bit is just to stir them up.
To be fair there are plenty of decent folks on the wam also.

If you want to see how silly your linear supplies are and how pointless see thread. I get my ass kicked repeatedly but sometimes one has to take one for the team! I knew they would come out in their droves. Got rid of a batch of them on another thread but this bunch are 'experts' I didn't stand a chance.

You did well keeping your cool with all that condescending arrogance and downright ignorance.

I love the way these numpties insist on "double blind testing" as some sort of measurable validation of your results. As in the wine world blind testing is good fun and a nice way to spend an evening with reasonable friend but it's little more than paddling around ankle deep in pseudo science. There are still too many variables (some of us are human after all) and while results might be interesting they are never definitive. keep fighting the good fight T!

Blind testing wouldnt be necessary for a lot the improvements made with computer audio as the changes are usually quite substantial
ive only been buried in computer audio since january
(Being buried in computers since 95)
but I can imagine anyone needing to even do a replay with the improvements made beween then and now

If fairness theres a lot of BS out there
but most people have a pc these days and it would cost nothing to do a little experimenting now and again.
and if they don't want to do that I guess there going to miss out

Hey Tony, good to see you having a go at those numpties.
I've officially passed the baton over to you as I'm no longer interested in that race (or at least I'm getting into training for a different race.

Word of advice, you will never change their mindset as they keep coming back to the same mantra - no measurements, no DBTs, too easy to fool yourself (no matter how big a difference you THINK you hear).

These are well rehearsed positions that they have adopted:
- measurements have not YET been produced. They know this but use the argument, nonetheless to "prove" that there is no difference in what is heard
- no DBTs - I wish someone would test their DBT claims & just test if they can tell the difference between two turntables, two whatevers, to determine how sensitive DBT are at revealing known differences. I may be wrong but I would like to see the sensitivity of DBT being tested.

Hi John I have just resigned that role you can have it back. Will explain when I see you why I even bothered digging a hole on that thread.
There was no expectation of any mindset change or even a pique of curiosity. Fully expected the abuse etc. But if one kept at it for long well quality of life would suffer but as a bit of side line entertainment and a chance to call some of those people as they really are was good enough for me. Anyway back to the stupidity over here. I have been convinced by the quality of logical argument and rigourous testing that this linear supply and audio pc is a waste of time.Double blind testing with an ipod gives much better sq than a cuinas. when I plugged in the linear supplies the difference was closed somewhat but it just doesnt make sense walking around with 2 audiopcs and 6 linear supplies strapped to my back when an ipod and apple headphones sound exactly the same.

Thought id better blow the dust off this thread

had a few guys over to listen to multiple linear vs multiple batteries (3 on audio pc and 1 on control would have been better with 3 on each but i didn't have enough gear for that and test back and forward at the same)

i would have done my own testing on this previous,
listening time last night only got a couple of tracks because switching over involed swapping of several power cables and rebooting 2 pcs
but sound was described as been more immersive, interesting and dynamic on the batteries

(must also note that the battery system tested is only experimental and its completely impractical, but theres definitely something in this type of system to improve sound quality, now to make it better and practical)
We also did a trial on Mqn player a wasapi single pc player that had Sound quality between jplay on core server single pc scripted and streaming on core server scripted
which we thought was fantastic for a player thats relatively new on the scene and using half the equipment/investment and has the bonus of been open-source software

id like to thank all who came, and hopefully they got out through the potholes without harm
