JJ Cale RIP

Post by Ivor »

One of the great no-nonsense white bluesmen..... probably more influential than famous but I was a huge fan from an early age.

He died of a heart attack earlier today aged 74. RIP JJ.

Mmmmm it seems the reports maybe a stupid hoax, I suppose we'll know for sure soon enough.

update - probably not the last...
Yes. This is the message form management confirms death: "Unfortunately, it is true. JJ Cale has passed away - last night at about 8 pm Pacific time at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA after having a heart attack

maybe the report of a hoax is a hoax.... sadly

Yes, that's a shocker, loved his laid back style.
He'll be missed

For Digital Audio playback that delivers WHERE the performers are on stage but more importantly WHY they are there.

That says it all really. Hugely influential and turns up on unexpected recordings. Great loss.
