Less odd than you would expect Ivor.
I like Jah Wobble for ages too. I guess we're of a similar vintage.
This is a departure for him.
The first track is really a funk soul number with a female vocalist, PJ Higgins.
After that it's all straight ahead instrumental jazz.
Of course Wobble's bass plays a big part and Bill Sharpe's keys are excellent and great trumpet and horn from Sean Corby.
Obvious references to M. Davis [Sketches of Spain] et al.
I love driving to it.
Recommended.

Would I have heard some of that in Frans? I seem to remember hearing something (while listening to some funny new speakers ;) ) and thinking that's Jah that is.

I saw Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart in the Rock Garden in the early 90s. Great gig that.

no, I'd know that one well. This was a piece I didn't know but recognised the bass style as the great Jah. It might well have been somewhere else I heard it
