and I'd agree totally. What I really meant to have said is that a one-box system doesnt necessarily have to be a compromise if the right approach is taken and it would appear that Devaliet have cracked this albeit at great expense. I should stress 'appear' as I've never heard one properly yet, I'm just going on reviews and user opinions. Either way the box does seem to have made an impression in audio circles.
I do wonder though if you took this new hybrid amp design of theirs and put it in a separate box on its own, would the sound quality go up another level?

Just FYI - There is a Devaliet D Preimer selling (used) on one of the US sites at the moment for $9975

would the sound quality go up another level, sufficiently to offset the ease of having a single box?
