Earlier today I enjoyed CD Review and in particular:
9.30am Building a Library
Stephen Johnson explores recordings of Brahms Symphony no. 2 and makes a recommendation

I think this is a case of 'famous last words'. I recently mentioned to Fergus in his thread that, although I don't mind Holst's Planet Suite, it has suffered from repeated exposure to such a degree that I'd be quite happy not to hear it again, for sometime. So much for that ideal...

I have recently, inadvertently landed myself with THREE versions of said work which I haven't heard... so here comes 'Mars':

I will be interested to read how you get on here my friend. My advice would be to just listen to the music for its sheer innovation and uniqueness for its time.
