As its your first time, I'd go to cloneys and they won't lead you a stray.

Something like arcam solo, or mini sole + muso speakers, a match

But if it was me and my cash I'd go to cloneys and buy the naim unitiqute 2 for under €1500 and use your speakers as a stop gap unil you have a "spare" €500/700 for speakers.

The UniQute is a nice piece of equipment.

I have it feeding n-Sats but have used Shahinian Arcs as well and it was able to power them.

You might be best going the second hand route though if you want a turn-table and cd player etc.

Many of us probably have cd players hanging around that we don't use. I have 2. A Marantz CD67 and a Sony CDP both highly reviewed at the time and still sounding good but probably worth less than €50. My son uses one in the second system but the other in the third system in the bedroom has been superseded by a sqeezebox duet.

I'd imagine if you put a "wanted" add in the classifieds section here you could do quite well. Most of us here have looked after our kit well.

Technology is changing quite rapidly but you invariably still need an amp and speakers, spend most of your money on these. You really could do very well s/h with your budget, best of luck.

The Naim Audio sound is shall we say 'distinctive', you either like it or you don't. As always a few hours spent in Cloneys will be instructive. And try the kit in your home first.....

There's a Dual 1254 TT offered for €120. From what I've googled, it's not one of there best but decent nonetheless. Anyone familiar with it?? How does the price sound??

Don't know it tbh. Most likely it's a respectable performer but built to a price. I'd be happier with a price more around 80-90 depending on condition.

Cheers. Thanks for your opinion. I will give it a bit of thought.

I suspect you could do better for that money.... for not much more (relatively speaking) you could buy a new Project or similar without worrying about an abused cartridge or replacing a belt.
Vinyl -anything else is data storage.

Thorens TD124 Mk1 + Kuzma Stogi 12"arm, HANA Red, Gold Note PH 10 + PSU. ADI-2 Dac, Lector CDP7, Wyred4Sound pre, Airtight ATM1s, Klipsch Heresy IV, Misc Mains, RCA + XLR ICs, Tellurium Q spkr cable

Cheers Ivor. My gut feeling is it is a bit over priced. Thinking about the Project Debut S/E3. Maybe a Rotel 10A Amp. Any thoughts on them?? Also KEF Q300 speakers??? Any opinions??
