That was a close shave Tony as I almost went ahead and ordered the Streacom yesterday with a plan to build another Zuma as Control PC.
Think I will wait now until you build yours and then we can "Mate" both of them to see how JPlay works off 2 Zumas :-))

Thats funny looking at that one for over 3 weeks it would have just been typical if it disappeared just as I decided to jump.
overclockers have the same case i.e your zuma case for £199. So cost unless postage is mad should be similar if you are keen to get going.

I think from looking at jplay forum somebody either has to go and do what you are suggesting doing to see if that is another big leap.It certainly makes sense to
wait and try it out with mine. It is another chunky spend if it delivers little.

At that rate I was going to be lucky to get the case by the end of june. Bit disappointed as I wanted to go the plex H5.s route.
Ordered the streacom fc5 ws evo (last one on komplett) and the 160w pico from ebay. Should have all parts next week so can start getting the hammer and chisel out
Plex must lose a lot of case orders as the stock has been out for nearly a month already.

Will run this with the maplin supply I got and as John sensibly advised take the other potential upgrades one step at a time.
I saw that coming!!!
ETA's mean nothing to me anymore, im impatient anyway

scan.co.uk should have one of those cases Pearse if you cant wait, but im not sure what sort of improvement it would bring well have to have another meet to figure it out and do some streaming.

I think a streaming based get together will be definitely the next step Nige.
I will hold off on the next build for the moment until Tony gets his but who knows....tend to be a bit impatient mysellf at times!
Might try to get in to Maplins at the weekend to buy one of the Linear PS to do some comparisons against the Teddy Pardo, still loving what it has done to the sound but not sure exactly how big the jump was when compared to the jump we found when the Maplin unit was used in Frans's during the last meet.

Pearse take mine.It is sitting in the box unopened at least it would mean it is starting to get burnt in.It is going to be at least a week if not longer before
I have the parts and then have to build it. I cant get out to you but you can collect tomorrow morning or at any time over the weekend.

I dont know if I want to hear two zuma's streaming! I want to get over the cost of the first build. But I do believe a dedicated pc on control is going to bring another improvement. Have to be honest will go with that solution at some point but currently having a listen to 2 laptops streaming and was listening to one earlier and for most people that sound will be good enough.

Nige you were right about plex unfortunately. I was prepared to wait even another 3 weeks but the ETA and the month finished me off.
Sure I was told a linear supply was in the offing within a week a couple of weeks ago. I can understand what happens enthusiasm takes over and it raises expectations. Probably best for these guys to say nothing but considering the cases are I assume the bread and butter I would be trying very hard not to run out of stock.

Good idea Tony, I can dial it back to 12v and burn it in for you, how about 11am tomorrow morning?
It will give me an opportunity to call in to Ivor and stock up on wine as the stockpile has run low lately!

Pearse/all,

I'm happy to bring my "zuma" along if its any good to anyone to try out for streaming?

Nigel: that PSU from Maplin with the 2 outputs won't do as its up to 2.5A and the zuma draws more....

I'm not normally open until 12:30 but pm me if you want access before that... it's no problem.
