Forum rules
Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?

To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:

a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

The kid next door probably thought you were positively prehistoric with no avatar! Note the absence in my case also, by choice though.
Now forgive ageing eyes but who is it and do you know what the amps are in the backgroung?
Now were talking. Its the late great Jaco Pastorius the self confessed greatest bass player on the planet. The amps are Acoustic 360s.Fender Jazz bass 1962 with the frets ripped out and size 9 shoes, right whats next
I had to smile at your asking that question Fergus, have you ever heard of Jaco?

Gussy will probably have a fit but the honest answer is no Seán.
Does the fact that I once played a Fender Jazz bass gain me any credits at all???

You never heard of Jaco Pastorius? Gosh, I thought that most people had done so. Have you heard of Weather Report then?

Jaco was solely responsible for taking the electric bass out of the dark ages just as Hendrix done with the elecric guitar,he ripped the frets out and the rest is history. As well as Weather Report he played those ground breaking lines on Joni Mitchell's Mingus,Shadows and Light,Hejira and Don Juan's Reckless Daughter. When my son started playing bass at 7 years old he wanted to rip the frets out of his fender jazz so as he could sound like Jaco
