Anybody with USB3 ports want to try this & report back?

renesas drivers are for renesas chipsets, my two builds have renesas usb3 chipsets im not sure whats in the intel
So you already have the NEDC/Renesas USB drivers. The NUC only has USB2 ports so no advantage to be found here.

It's just mentioned here by Marcin - I don't know if he discussed it in more detail elsewhere?

Just a slightly different track the lad on Jplay who has exchanged some pm,s kindly went and compared his supply non linear to the pico/linear supply. He felt they were very close but more bass. will post his results after talking to him as they were sent by pm. Anyway the conclusion was the smps with the pico is the problem. Any of the work done here around power supplies as we have all seen brings results(positive)
If Pearse's Teddy pardo brings another leap it would seem we have reached cheque book time to get beyond where we are.

Nige maybe you might assemble a pc in its cardboard wrapper but i will be doing the ladybird route probably followed by SOS calls to Bray,Kells,Ballsbridge,Naas and Trim, Whatever I save in costs by all my online checking and tweaking will be lost five fold with all the trips for help! Probably end up cheaper to get it from the us built and delivered with excise duty on top.

all that worry is bad for you, relax theres not much to be scared of.
regardless its not as if a package from the us will have any more or less issues or ability to play music.
if youre still unsure i will build it for you and get you set up with WTG, i think its great fun

Fun! Thanks a lot Nige will see how I get on. The wtg and the paste are the only concerns unless I do a simon and forgot to connect the processor at all or else sit on the mobo in exasperation by mistake. Hoping I can get done myself but it is great comfort having the help at hand.

Sorry your earlier post Nige re pico. I am a wimp when it comes to this. If I order the supply from plex it will be the right length and I can plug it in and play. Then get the maplin and see what it does. From what I can see the pico's on ebay will end up nearly costing as much as the plex supplied brick/pico. I expect a reply momentarily proving me wrong!

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/PicoPSU-160-XT-P ... 919wt_1080

its $85 from hd plex suppose theres not that much in it

the cable for my pico is too short to reach to the backplate and it will need lengthening

Tony, I am just hoping the Teddy Pardo gets somewhere near the Linear Supply that Nige and Fran had, I have no expectations of bettering these as I will still be feeding the Pico from the Teddy Pardo supply.
Maybe another separate supply for the lower voltage stuff at a later date if it proves worthwhile and we can get rid of the Pico.....where will it all end!!

Tony - as Nigel said, I've no problem giving you a hand to put it all togeher if you need it. You could get all the bits and call down here and we can put it together in an evening easily..
