Forgot to mention that there is rumble on the recording (download from Qobuz) almost as if it were digitised from vinyl. It can be distracting.fergus wrote:markof wrote:
That is an interesting one Mark. I have a different set of the Bach Cello Suites also played on the theorbo and I agree that they do indeed sound very good. They also transfer well which I did not really expect. I am glad that you enjoyed those performances.
Couldn't agree with you more... it's probably the cleverest 'Easy Listening' music ever devised! I used to find it quite bland when I started out, but I've warmed to it... I can even cope with EkN these days, from the point of view that if you break it down into small subsections of musical argument (rather than skirting over the main tunes so often used by call centres!!) then you see how clever and creative, Mozart was being.fergus wrote:I went through a Mozart Serenade phase not so long ago Jared. I always found that music to be very relaxing but also very beguiling; it was as though he was saying to the party goers "if you guys bother to listen there is some good stuff going on here"! Enjoy your listening!
I have seen Sinkovsky in concert with his orchestra and Joyce Di Donato, he is an amazing, energetic performer. He performed some of these concerti as part of the concert. Most recommended.fergus wrote:Claus wrote:
