Lovely music.

I am delighted that you took a liking to Gluck Seán.
Yes I am. I listened to the complete opera, that is Atto Primo, Atto Secondo ed Atto Terzo again this evening and put the third part on repeat, it is very enjoyable music, I haven't got a clue what it's about though and I was surprised that I was familiar with "Che farò senza Euridice?" the rest of the music is unfamiliar to me.

A classic Samuel Barber disc. A composer who took a while to grow on me.

Symphony # 1
Essays # 1 and 2
Overture to the "School for Scandal"
Music for a Scene from Shelley

Baltimore SO David Zinman

That is interesting Pepe because the sleeve notes on the back of the LP are only auf Deutsche.

I like Zinman as a conductor.

Two nods in the direction of Seán with this one; one for Mahler and the other for Haitink....

Harnoncourt and the Concertgebouw in Dvořák's 7th. A great pleasure. Beautiful woodwind sounds, strong but not aggressive direction from Harnoncourt, lovely recording.

Patricia Petibon in Italian 18th Century Opera Arias. Most of this is wonderful: as good as Simone Kermes's "Lava", but some tracks are way over the top. Nonetheless, I'm listening to it a lot, in particular much more to Il caro Sassone (Händel) than I normally would!
