Superb explanation of digital audio

Post by Diapason »

Here's a very easy-to-understand video that explains how digital audio works. I don't know how well people know this stuff here, but I certainly learned something. This should be a must-watch for every audiophile.

Note: This doesn't deal with jitter or anything of the sort. It's not saying anything about "perfect sound forever" or the equivalent. However, it should debunk some of the usual criticisms of digitisation as a concept.

This is a very useful guide on the basics of Digital Signal Processing. The beauty of this one is that it's not very maths instensive so its allows anyone with a technical background to grasp the fundamentals of DSP without getting bogged down in equations etc.
All chapters are available online.

For the brave, books from Alan V. Oppenheim are generally seen as a DSP reference guide.
