Tir Na Hifi Meet Up @ The Listening Suite

Hi Guys

Just a short note prior to the Meet Up on Wednesday the 6th of March.

Although the meet is open to all members of the forum, members who have visited
The Listening Suite previously will know that space is limited so we would really appreciate your understanding if we need to control the numbers of people within the room,
so in advance of Wednesdays event can you please confirm your attendance via email and we can arrange seating accordingly.

To make the evening a more enjoyable and convenient one, may we suggest that two members bring along their favourite DACs to compare and discuss rather than comparing multiple DACs which may become time consuming and eat into precious listening time.

As we use Apple Mac computers operating on OSX 10.8.2 at the Listening Suite
please bring along a PC laptop to avoid software issues with regard to DACs
which may not be Mac compatible.

Topics which may be of interest to discuss and demonstrate:

The different computer audio files and software players available for PC and Mac.

Discuss and demonstrate why certain CDs are louder that others
and how this affects your listening pleasure..

Guys - it'd be a good idea to go ahead and let the lads know ASAP just so they have a handle on the numbers. ........

David/Jonathan - is there anything you want any of us to do to prepare? Should we bring along CDs or would it be better to bring along some files on a memory stick?

Hi Fran & All,

CD's are best. We will load these to our Mac. We will play two songs per person to allow time for relistens etc. and to allow everyone an opportunity.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to Jonathan and David for their hospitality tonight. It was a lovely evening, great atmosphere, interesting comparisons, and good chat in the intervals.

Nice to meet some new faces, and of course see some of the older ones too!
