I have that set Seán and I would be interested in what you think of it. In particular I would be interested to see how you ultimately compare the sound world of these Bruggen performances with that of Abbado's Haydn (given that the works are different) which I do not have nor have heard.

Hi Fergus, they are well worth getting. Unfortunately Abbado did not record the Paris Symphonies he didn't even finish the cycle of London Symphonies, which is a real shame. I already have the following recordings of the Paris Symphonies and will listen to each one in turn:
Doráti/Philharmonia Hungarica;
Bernstein/New York Philharmonic Orchestra;
Weil/Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra;
Harnoncourt/Concentus Musicus Wien and
Kuijken/Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

I will compare Bruggen's sound world with that of Abbado and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.

I've seen impulse buys which demonstrate far poorer judgement than that JB... hope you enjoy it.

At long last my set arrived this morning.

I will probably listen to this first:
CD11 The monuments of Classicism: Haydn: Symphony No 92 'Oxford'; Mozart: Symphone No 41 'Jupiter' (Freiburger Barokorchester, Jacobs)
