Tonight's the Night is one of the few Neil Young releases I don't have, it's just too down, even knowing the story behind it. David Briggs kept an unedited cassette version for years, swearing that Neil Young, Elliiot Roberts and Reprise had back pedalled and ruined the album. I wonder if there's any plans to release this as part of the Archive series?
Zuma and On the Beach are brilliant. Do you have the liner notes in On the Beach by Rusty Kershaw.

Enjoy the journey Dermot!

Thanks Johnny! Unfortunately I don't have the liner notes from OTB :( Are they worth reading? I love the sound on that album and especially Neil's vocals....As regards TTN, I don't find the album depressing at all! The piano is high in the mix and the pedal steel gives it a slightly countrified feel. Having said that Neil's vocals, especially on TTN part two, sound suitably scary and full of angst and anger. Not surprising really.....

Hi Dermot, if you want to pm me your email I can scan the liner notes and send them on tomorrow. there's not a lot in them, maybe a couple of hundred words, but I think that they sit well with the album.
I reckon I should give TTN another go, now I've got Borrowed Tune earworming away!
